Sherrard High School has named Zach Weigel its next varsity football coach.
The school district announced Weigel was officially hired at Wednesday’s school board meeting.
Weigel has served as associate head coach at Davenport Central High School, defensive coordinator at Keokuk High School, and assistant coach at Iowa City West High School.
He replaces Dan McGuire, who retired after one season leading the Tigers. Sherrard was 2-7 in 2025.
