Jeff Kirwan of New Windsor is retiring after 10 years of service on the Illinois Farm Bureau Board of Directors. He started on the board in 2015 and served for seven years on the Illinois Nutrient Research and Education Council (NREC).

U.S. Rep. Eric Sorensen (D-Illinois) spoke about Kirwan on the floor of the House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, saying he was the first to let him tour his farm when he was elected.

Kirwan spent 13 years as president of the Mercer County Farm Bureau Board.
