Sherrard (5-1, 2-0 TRAC West) never trailed in a 53-47 win over Orion (7-1, 1-1 TRAC West) at Harry Hunt Gymnasium on Friday.
The Tigers scored the first five points of the game and led 13-6 at the end of the first quarter. Ryder Veronda knocked down a three-pointer in the final seconds of the first half to give Sherrard a 23-16 halftime advantage. The Tigers extended the lead to 42-32 at the end of the third quarter and led by as many as 14 points in the fourth.
Brylan Bender scored a game-high 19 points for Sherrard. Nolan Kline added 12 and Carter Brown scored eight points of the bench in his season debut.
Finley Boyd paced Orion with 16 points and Kyler Owens scored 15.
