The two men arrested after police seized more than 13 pounds of drugs from an Aledo house last month will each be back in court over the next two months.
22-year-old Preston Huston of Aledo and 22-year-old Dequan Huntley of Chicago appeared in Mercer County Circuit Court on Monday for their respective preliminary hearings. Huston’s preliminary hearing was continued to Sept. 2, while Huntley’s preliminary hearing proceeded with a pretrial conference was set for Oct. 20.
Huston and Huntley were arrested last month following an investigation by the Aledo Police Department and Quad Cities Metropolitan Enforcement Group (MEG). A press release from the Aledo Police Department said that 119 grams of MDMA testing positive for methamphetamine, 4,697 grams of marijuana, 1,506 grams of THC wax, 63 grams of cocaine, packaging materials, and digital scales were found and seized from the property.
Huston is charged with a Class X felony of possession with intent to deliver 100-400 grams of methamphetamine and a Class 1 felony of possession with intent to deliver 2,000-5,000 grams of cannabis.
Huntley is charged with a Class X felony of possession with intent to deliver 15-100 grams of cocaine and a Class 2 felony of possession with intent to deliver 500-1,000 grams of cannabis.
Both were granted pretrial release with conditions, including GPS monitoring.
