The 2025-26 school year starts in the Sherrard School District this week with a new high school principal.
Alex Johnson, a 2004 graduate of the school, was selected in March to replace former Sherrard High School Principal Tim Wernentin, who retired at the end of last school year. Johnson is Sherrard’s varsity boys basketball coach and previously served as assistant principal at the high school.
Sherrard High School’s new assistant principal is former Mercer County High School Principal Andrea Cooper.
The first day of school in the Sherrard School District is Wednesday.
