Economic Growth Corporation provided an update on the Northside Lofts project timeline at Monday’s Aledo City Council meeting. The project will seek bids for various parts of the construction in September, with construction expected to begin in early 2026. The construction period is expected to last between 12 and 15 months.
The $11.5 million project will transform the former Aledo Junior High School, located at 205 North College Avenue, into an apartment complex with 30 units. The redevelopment involves converting the existing building into 24 apartments and constructing a new wing that will add six more. The project will include studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom layouts, all equipped with appliances and in-unit washers and dryers.
Economic Growth Corporation President/CEO Brian Hollenback says they’ve been receiving interest already from people wanting to lease an apartment.
Hollenback says monthly rent is expected to range from $698 to $1,024.

The Northside Lofts project is targeting a 2027 opening.
