New Windsor Man Sentenced To 7 Years In Prison In Sex Abuse Case

A New Windsor man has been sentenced to seven years in prison in two sexual abuse cases.

49-year-old Matthew Walsh was sentenced Monday in Mercer County Circuit Court after pleading guilty to two Class 2 felony counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse involving a pair of victims under the age of 13.

Walsh was arrested in March of 2023 following an investigation by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and New Windsor Police Department. Upon his release from prison, Walsh will serve a term of mandatory supervised release, register as a sex offender for life, and pay $10,000 in restitution, according to a Mercer County Sheriff’s Department press release.

Walsh has received credit for 758 days served in prison.
