Aledo, IL – Haven Hills Campground & Resort is set to officially open on April 1st, welcoming visitors to its newly developed site just south of Aledo on Highway 94. The campground, which has been under construction at the former Hawthorne Ridge Golf Course, is now ready to offer a unique outdoor experience.
The property was purchased in July 2020, and after years of development, the resort is taking shape with cabins, yurts, and outdoor recreation areas. Manager Allen Henshaw hopes area residents will come out and explore the new facility. On Tuesday, he provided a tour of the grounds, showcasing the progress and highlighting what’s to come.
All of the cabins are fully completed and available for reservations, offering a comfortable retreat for visitors looking to enjoy nature. Additionally, the resort will feature yurts from Colorado Yurt Company, which are fully furnished with modern amenities, including mini-split heating and cooling, dishwashers, showers, and two queen rooms with queen pull-out sleepers. Due to recent wind storms and weather challenges, construction on the yurts is still in progress, but Henshaw expects them to be ready within the next 30 days.
Henshaw says reservations are already filling up for April.
