Sherrard’s Mike Hutchins Holiday Classic announced the additions of Peoria Notre Dame and Payson Seymour to the field for 2025 Tuesday.
The boys basketball holiday tournament will remain an eight-team event with the two newcomers replacing Geneseo and Illinois Math & Science Academy.
Peoria Notre Dame and Payson Seymour join returning teams Sherrard, Byron, Princeton, Alleman, Annawan and East Dubuque for the third annual tournament, which takes place at Harry Hunt Gymnasium Dec. 27, 29 & 30.
In the first two years of the event, teams in the Mike Hutchins Holiday Classic have won five regional championships, appeared in three Sweet 16s, and won one state trophy.
