Sherrard junior Aidan Terronez was named to the IHSA Class 2A all-state baseball team, the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association (IHSBCA) announced Monday.
The left-handed pitcher went 6-0 with a 1.20 ERA this season. Terronez allowed seven earned runs and struck out 80 batters in 40.2 innings. He finished his junior season with 219 career strikeouts.
At the plate, Terronez batted .357 with 20 RBI, to go along with seven extra-base hits.
Terronez is the first Sherrard baseball player to be named an all-stater since 2012 and the fourth in program history.
Newman senior Brendan Tunik and Hall senior Max Bryant were also 2A all-state selections.
