A busy weekend for the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies on Sunday were dispatched to a report of a subject having been threatened with a firearm in Keithsburg. As a result, Austin McGuire of Keithsburg was arrested for aggravated assault. He was transported to the Mercer County Jail where he later posted bond.
On Saturday, deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle crash south of Aledo on Illinois Route 94. A northbound SUV left the roadway, struck a culvert, and rolled over. The driver sustained only minor injuries. No citations were issued involving the accident.
Also Saturday, deputies performed a traffic stop on a side-by-side in rural Sherrard. The driver was cited with a DUI.
