The Mercer County School Board talks technology and broadband. Aledo grad Louis Powell wants to develop a pilot project between Mercer County High School and Devry University involving dual enrollment in technology classes. Powell is involved with an effort called High Tech/Small Town. Superintendent Scott Petrie says the district is also partnering with Mercer County Better Together for a broadband initiative, which will include a survey.
Powell is a 1986 graduate of Aledo High School and spoke to the Unit 404 Board of Education Wednesday night. He is also renovating the former Gun Report building in downtown Aledo.
