It’s one of the most recognizable signs in downtown Aledo and the building it’s painted on is seeking TIF funds. The 110 South College Avenue storefront, which once housed the Aledo Gun Report, is now owned by Louis Powell. The southside of the building has “Welcome to Aledo” scripted in large letters. Powell has submitted an application for a Downtown Revitalization Program Loan. The item will be considered by the Aledo City Council Monday night. The building was constructed in 1890.
A nearby property, Alley Outback Spa, has also submitted an application for a Downtown Revitalization Program Loan to be considered by aldermen Monday night.
