The Sherrard Tigers boys golf team set a new school record in their dual meet with Fulton Tuesday. The Tigers fired a 140 on the front nine of Fyre Lake Golf Club. Sherrard was lead by Evan Earl, who also set a new Tiger record for a low round with a four under 32. The Tigers won the match 140-151. At West Central, Ridgewood won with a 171. United was next with 173 followed by Princeville with a 205 and West Central at 243.
In girls golf, Mercer County shot a team record low score to hand Rockrdige their first dual meet loss of the season at Hawthorn Ridge in a rematch of an earlier meet that the Rockets won by two strokes. This time the Golden Eagles rolled with a 172 to the Rockets 194. Farmington shot a 238. Mia Hillyer of Mercer Country was the medalist with a 38, one off the individual record for low score. Both Mercer County and Rockridge now have one loss.
In cross country, the Rockridge girls defeated Bureau Valley 27-28 at Kewanee. Kewanee did not field a full team. In the boys meet it was Kewanee 20, Bureau Valley 39. The Rockets did not field a full team.
