The Mercer County School District confirming a COVID-19 case at the high school. The district says they are coordinating with the Mercer County Health Department to identify and monitor individuals who have had recent contact with the positive case.
Staff members and students who are identified as having prolonged close contact with the infected individual will be placed in quarantine for 14 days. Close contacts will also receive a separate notification from the health department.
Also, students and staff who are ill with COVID-19 symptoms will promptly be placed in a separate supervised area away from others until they can be sent home. High touch surfaces are also continuously being sanitized. Additional recommendations and guidelines will be implemented as more information is obtained from the Department of Public Health.
