Friday was supposed to be a night of high school football openers in Illinois, but not this fall. In lower Rock Island County, Rockridge was scheduled to play Sherrard, where Scott Monson is head coach.
The high school football season has been moved to the spring this school year with practices scheduled to begin Feb. 15 and games starting on March 5th. Under the modified seven week spring schedule, Sherrard and Rockridge won’t meet on the gridiron.
