A Joy man facing a Class 1 felony charge of Possession of Explosive Device. 34 year old Michael D. Ellis was taken into custody on Wednesday. He remains in the Mercer County Jail on $50,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 1. The charge accuses him of possessing an explosive compound “with the intent to commit a disorderly conduct at a rural Joy property. Class 1 felonies are punishable by 4-to-15 years in prison upon conviction.
