WRMJ Sports Director Jim Taylor caught up with Morgan Weeks Monday afternoon. Weeks, who is the varsity head softball coach, is also the Jr. High softball coach. This marks the first year Mercer County School District is offering Jr. High softball. The IESA announced on July 23rd that all fall sports, including softball, were cancelled, but then reversed its decision last Friday (July 31). IESA practices can now begin Aug. 3 (Monday), but Weeks says Mercer County will begin practice Aug. 10.
Jr. High cross country practice can also begin this week.
