Pritzker Talks High School Sports During QC Stop; Deeply Concerned About Fall

The prospects for fall high school sports in Illinois does not appear too promising. Governor J.B. Pritzker was questioned on the subject Monday afternoon during a visit at the Rock Island County Public Health Department.

He says positivity rates have him concerned when asked about the chances for Aug. 10, the first official day of fall sports practices and Aug. 28, the first day that football games can be played.

The IHSA Board of Directors has not officially announced a public decision on fall high school sports. They meet Wednesday to take up the issue.
