A continuance granted in a New Boston man’s sexual assault case. 25 year old Joshua Masters appeared in Mercer County Circuit Court Wednesday morning for a pre-trial conference with the matter continued to Sept. 15. He faces a Class 1 felony and was taken into custody in June after Mercer County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 911 call in New Boston. The Mercer County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the New Boston Police Department and Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services. Masters remains in custody at the Mercer County Jail on $100,000 bond. Earlier this month, Masters was denied in his motion for funding of a private investigator and last month he was denied in his request for a bond reduction.
