Mercer County included in the North-Central region as part of Governor J.B. Pritzker’s new plan to help prevent a resurgence of COVID-19 in Illinois. The effort breaks the state into 11 regions instead of the original four. The governor says it also creates new metrics.
If a region sees a resurgence, restrictions could be put back in place such as only allowing outdoor dining, suspending elective surgeries and greater limits on gatherings in the affected area.
The rest of the North-Central region includes Bureau, Fulton, Grundy, Henderson, Henry, Kendall, Knox, La Salle, Livingston, Marshall, McDonough, McLean, Peoria, Putnam, Rock Island, Stark, Tazewell, Warren, and Woodford counties.
