The National Weather Service monitoring the Mississippi River with the river above flood stage at Lock and Dam 17 in New Boston and Keithsburg. Hydrologist Jessica Brooks spoke with WRMJ Monday morning.
The river was at 17.2 feet at Lock and Dam 17 Monday morning with flood stage 15 feet. The river is expected to rise to 17.6 feet Tuesday night and then begin falling. The river was at 16.1 feet at Keithsburg Monday morning with flood stage at 14 feet. The river is expected to rise to 16.5 feet Tuesday evening and then begin falling.
