The First Baptist Church of Aledo holding a free school supply shop this weekend. The event is Saturday from 9-to-10:45 a.m. at the Keithsburg City Hall says church administrative assistant Pam Rickie.
This is the second year the church has hosted the school supply shop, and served over 65 families last year. The church has raised $1600 for the event this summer.
Also, Genesis Health System, celebrating 150 years of health services in the region, is helping gather school supplies for area schools.The Genesis “Pack The Bus’’ School Supply Drive is taking place through the first week of August. The local collection site is at Genesis Medical Center, 409 NW 9th Avenue in Aledo, in the front lobby.
