Mercer County opened up the 2019 baseball season shutting out Illini West 3-0. Coach Jacob Harrison picked up his first career win after taking over the program. Jake Reusch threw a two hitter to get the victory. United exploded for 14 runs on 15 hits as they pounded Peoria Christian 14-4. Geneseo handled Sherrard 12-2.
In other action, Alleman beat Abingdon-Avon 7-1. Erie-Prophetstown blanked Rowva-Williamsfield 1-0. Morrison topped Stark County 10-1
In softball, Galesburg out slugged West Central 10-7.
