Melting snow and rain made for some treacherous times on Mercer County roads over the weekend. The sheriff’s department responded to an accident on Saturday where a vehicle became submerged in a ditch. There were no injuries and the vehicle was towed from the scene. Also on Saturday, a vehicle was overcome by water on a road in rural Sherrard. The driver was successfully rescued from the vehicle by Sherrard Fire Department personnel.
