A Mercer County youth wins a State 4-H Award in Personal Growth. The honor goes to Gwendolyn Fowler of Aledo. She is being recognized for starting her own recycling company and also participating as a citizen scientist with the River Watch project in an effort to understand and correct the weak points of the ecosystem. The award was presented last weekend at the 4-H State Celebrating Excellence Reception in Champaign.
