People in Illinois who need help in paying their heating bills this winter are being encouraged to apply for that help now. The Illinois Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, better known as LIHEAP, is taking applications across the state. Locally, you can apply at the Mercer County Project NOW office in Aledo or for more information call 309-582-5666. Applications are due by November 1st, and the first payments will come in December.
