Mercer County State’s Attorney Files ‘Stalking No Contact Order’ Petition Against Aledo Man

Mercer County State’s Attorney Meeghan Lee has filed a “petition for stalking no contact order” against an Aledo man.  The respondent in the case is 57 year old Jeffrey Butcher. Lee is taking issue with Butcher’s behavior in the aftermath of a criminal case. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail and placed on 24 months’ probation in a domestic battery case last month, but wasn’t ordered to report to jail until September 1. Lee cited an August 26th incident in her petition where Butcher drove to her home, but neighbors called 911 and he left the property before officers arrived.  So far, two judges have recused themselves from hearing the petition with the matter being sent to the court administrator for reassignment. Judge Walter Braud granted a two-year “Stalking No Contact Order” against Butcher yesterday afternoon in Mercer County Circuit Court.
