As a Chicago filmmaker works on a documentary film featuring an Aledo artist, more interesting facts continue to emerge about the impact of Gertrude Abercrombie. A painting called Silo at Aledo recently brought $864,000 at an auction. Christina Shaver says Abercrombie is a compelling story. She spoke with WRMJ last spring about the documentary.

Abercrombie lived in Aledo early in her life. She died in Chicago in 1977.
