Mercer County School District voters will decide on a $28 million building bond referendum on April 1. On Wednesday night, the Unit 404 Board of Education approved putting the issue on the ballot. The funding is being asked for to pay for an extensive renovation at the high school campus says Superintendent Tim Farquer.
The board had a lengthy discussion regarding pre-school location. Currently, those students are housed in Joy, but an administration recommendation would move them to New Boston and Apollo. The board is expected to make a final decision on that issue next month.
