As the community celebrates the life of former Aledo businessman Gene Cooper, one of his key contributions was investing in local radio. Cooper was among a group of local investors, including John Hoscheidt, that acquired WRMJ from station founder Roger Coleman. Cooper told the story during WRMJ’s 25th anniversary in 2004.
Cooper passed away August 3. His life is being celebrated Monday at 5 p.m. at Aledo Central Park.
