As the 2018/2019 school year starts to wind down, the Mercer County School District is nearing a nice milestone. Ten full years as a consolidated district. It’s been a pretty smooth transition says high school ag teacher Aaron Heartt, who was there at the beginning.
In November of 2008, Aledo School District voters approved the consolidation proposal 2721 to 714 with Westmer School District voters supporting by a margin of 1034 to 458. The first year of the consolidated school district was the 2009/2010 school year.
