Local Meth Case Attorney Has Own Controlled Substance Case Continued To Fall

The Quad City attorney who represents a Mercer County woman in a meth case, has now had his own controlled substance case continued to later this year. 46 year old John G. Steckel of Rock Island faces Class 1 and Class 4 felony counts accusing him of representing a client in exchange for Adderall.  He was arrested in February in the Quad Cities and is free on $50,000 bond. His pre-trial conference was continued yesterday in Rock Island County Circuit Court to September 29th. Steckel represents 26 year old Erica Sandusky of Matherville in Mercer County. She’s awaiting trial on Class X, Class 1 and Class 4 felony methamphetamine counts with a court date set for August 14th.
