The Mercer County Sheriff’s Department reminding all county residents that door to door solicitors are required to obtain a peddlers license. The home improvement season is here and if you are approached by a contractor that you did not call, please be aware that there are non-reputable contractors going door to door soliciting business. Always ask to see identification and a copy of their Mercer County peddlers license, which can be obtained at the sheriff’s department. This license does not apply to charitable organizations like churches, boy or girl scouts, and other community groups.
