Two gyms were needed in Sherrard’s (12-2, 2-1 TRAC West) 54-42 win over Orion (8-7, 1-2 TRAC West) at home Wednesday.
With 2:46 left in the second quarter and Sherrard leading 19-14, a network issue led to the scoreboard malfunctioning at Harry Hunt Gymnasium. After a nearly ten minute delay, the rest of the first half was played without a scoreboard. The time had to be counted off every fifteen seconds over the public address system.
Sherrard led 24-15 at the half. Halftime lasted almost 30 minutes as the scoreboard continued to be worked on. The game was then moved to the junior high gym to be completed because a solution couldn’t be found.
Sherrard’s Carter Brown scored a game-high 21 points in the win. Jack Hatlestad, 11 points, and James Blackwell, 10 points, were also in double figures for the Tigers.
Maddux Arnold scored 18 points to pace Orion.
