Sherrard (13-3) erased a 5-0 deficit to defeat Mercer County (4-8) 9-8 in baseball Tuesday. Sam Crownover drove in two runs in the win for the Tigers, including the game-winning run on a walk-off sacrifice fly. Mercer County led 5-0 entering the bottom of the second inning. Sherrard answered with seven runs across the next two innings. The game was tied 8-8 entering the seventh before the Tigers scored to win the game. Jacob Fratzke was the winning pitcher for Sherrard. He tossed three shutout innings of relief. Jude Hofmann took the loss for the Golden Eagles out of the bullpen.
