A New Windsor man charged in two sex abuse cases returns to Mercer County Circuit Court on May 15. The attorney representing 47-year-old Matthew Walsh asked for the continuance Tuesday. In one case he is charged with a Class X felony of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and two Class 2 felonies of aggravated criminal sexual abuse stemming from allegations involving a girl under the age of 13. In the other case, he’s facing two Class 2 felonies in connection with allegations involving another girl under the age of 13. Walsh has pleaded not guilty in both cases. He was arrested in March following an investigation by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and New Windsor Police Department. Walsh remains in custody at the Mercer County Jail on $300,000 bond.
