The Rockridge community mourning the loss of retired coach and teacher Rick Amy. He had a 35-year career with the district. Coach Amy spoke with WRMJ back in 2019—celebrating the 25th anniversary of the 1994 football state title for the Rockets.
Again, that conversation recorded in 2019. Coach Amy also led Rockridge to a state title in wrestling in 1990 and coached many individual state medalists, including his three sons. He was also the first ever softball coach at Rockridge. Coach Amy died last Friday at the age of 67. The Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory in Milan is handling arrangements.
