Sherrard (13-3, 5-0 TRAC West) won its sixth straight game in softball Wednesday with a 4-1 win over Mercer County (7-4, 1-1 LTC) at home.
Mercer County scored its lone run of the game in the top of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. The Tigers scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the third inning to go ahead 2-1. Sherrard tacked on two insurance runs in the sixth.
Makenzy Moran, Marisa Neels, and Savanah Hauger all drove in runs for the Tigers.
Danni Neppl (5-2) threw seven innings of one-run ball to get the win in the pitchers circle. She struck out 10 Mercer County batters.
Gabriella McPeek knocked in the only Mercer County run.
Hallie Schreurs (2-1) took the loss for the Golden Eagles, allowing four runs in six innings.
