Sherrard used big innings at the plate in the third and fourth to run away from Macomb 16-1 in high school softball on Tuesday.
With the game tied 1-1 entering the bottom of the third inning, the Tigers (5-0) plated seven runs to blow the game open. Sherrard would go on to score eight more in the bottom of the fourth to end the game early.
Madison Woodward went 2-3 with four RBI to lead Sherrard’s offense. Makenzy Moran, Tessa Driessens and Ava Stanley also had multi-hit games for the Tigers. Kaylee Faccio added two RBI in the win.
Makensie Westfall improved to 5-0 in the pitcher’s circle after allowing one run in four innings to pick up the win.
