A Sherrard man facing sexual assault of a child charges will return to court next month.
59-year-old Arden Scott Anderson appeared in Mercer County Circuit Court on Monday, where his next pretrial conference was set for Jan. 6. The delay was attributed to the defense. As part of the continuance, a jury trial date on Jan. 26 was vacated.
Anderson was arrested in September 2024 and charged with two Class X felony counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. He was denied pretrial release and remains in custody at the Mercer County Jail.
