A September jury trial has been scheduled for a New Boston man facing a felony sexual abuse charge.
24-year-old Gage Welch appeared in Mercer County Circuit Court on Tuesday, where a jury trial has been set to begin on Sept. 29. A final pre-trial conference in Welch’s case is scheduled for Aug. 17.
Welch was arrested last June and charged with a Class 2 felony of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to a Mercer County Sheriff’s Department press release at the time of the arrest. He was released from custody following his arrest with conditions, including no contact with the alleged victim.
Welch has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
