Rock Island (23-4) defeated Rockridge (17-9) 60-44 in boys basketball Saturday at the Rock Island Fieldhouse.
Rock Island led 14-9 at the end of the first quarter and 33-21 at halftime. The game was within single digits for most of the night, with Rockridge cutting the deficit to as little as five points in the fourth quarter before the Rocks pulled away late.
Lawson Zulu led Rock Island with 14 points in the win.
Landon Bull scored a game-high 20 points for Rockridge in the loss. Caleb Cuncio added 14 for the Rockets.
