Sandra Lea Cook, 82 of Viola, passed away at her home on Monday, August 4, 2025. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday, August 11, at the Viola United Methodist Church. The funeral service will directly follow at 12 p.m. Interment will be at the Viola Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be left to the family. Sandra was born on August 7, 1942, in Delmont, Illinois, the daughter of William and Fern Brown Brock. She was a graduate of Westmer High School. She married Robert L. Cook on November 23, 1963, in Burlington, Iowa. They were married for 59 years before his passing on February 3, 2023.
Sandra drove a school bus for the Sherrard and Winola School Districts for many years. She was an active member of the Viola United Methodist Church, Viola Public Library Board, and Mercer County YMCA. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, sewing, and yard sales.
Sandra is survived by three children, Robert (Ema) Cook of Muscatine, Iowa, Jerry (Alicia) Cook of Keithsburg, and Christine Cook of Maquon; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Candy (John) Swank of Aledo; three sisters-in-law, Kay (Jim) Lindquist of Giltner, Nebraska, Norma Greene of Grand Island, Nebraska, and Diane Cook of Madison, Wisconsin; three brothers-in-law, Jerry (Barb) Cook of Bettendorf, Iowa, Steve Howard of Keithsburg, and Red Stancliff of Aledo; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and four siblings, Pat Stancliff, Francie Howard, Topper Brock, and Ronnie Brock.
