Rockridge (1-0) started its 2025 softball season with a 14-0 win over Newman (0-2) in five innings Friday.
The Rockets scored a run in the top of the first inning and then erupted for eight runs in the second to put the game away early.
Charley Perkins hit a home run and drove in two runs. Tatum Lowe and Emilee Black also had two RBI. Madelyn David drove in three runs in the victory.
Taylor Dieterich picked up the win in the pitcher’s circle, allowing three hits and striking out eight batters over five scoreless innings.
