Donald Gene Franks, 66 of Aledo, died peacefully at his home Tuesday, March 18, 2025. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 26, at the Aledo United Methodist Church. Memorials are to the family. In a final act of selfless sacrifice, Donny donated his body to research through Science Care.
“Donny” was born April 22, 1958, in Aledo, the son of Gerald and Janet Franks. He was educated in Aledo. He enlisted in the Navy and was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, from 1976 to 1979 when he was honorably discharged.
He married Belinda Rebello on December 6, 2005.
He was a member of the Aledo United Methodist Church. Donny worked for Blick & Blick as an HVAC technician. He was also a maintenance worker for Dick Maynard.
Those left to cherish his memory include stepchildren, Angela Rebello, Charles Rebello, and Marcella Minner; daughter, Beth Perry; sister, Karen; and two brothers, Kenny and Rodney. He is further survived by nine grandchildren, Sophia, Sonya, Dustin, Remmy, Jaisci, Jaime, Michael, Ashton, and Johnny. Also surviving is a dear friend, Scott Guyton.
