A Rock Island Arsenal firefighter was sentenced in Mercer County Circuit Court on Monday in connection with a December 2023 battery in the parking lot of Sherrard Elementary School.
41-year-old Timothy Weller of Coal Valley was sentenced to 18 months of conditional discharge, fined $250, ordered to complete and provide written proof of compliance with anger management within six months of the order, refrain from possessing a firearm or other dangerous weapon, and not leave the state without the consent of the court.
Last October, Weller was found guilty of a Class 3 felony of aggravated battery in a public place during a bench trial.
