For a second consecutive year, Mississippi River Pool 18 will serve as a site for the IHSA bass fishing state tournament series. Pool 18 runs from Lock and Dam 17 in New Boston to Lock and Dam 18 in Oquawka. It will serve as a regional site on May 15.
The schools competing will be Mercer County, West Central, Illini West, Hamilton, Knoxville, Macomb, United, Sherrard, and Warsaw.
The IHSA bass fishing state series now includes 30 regional sites feeding into six sectional sites.
The state finals are moving to Lake Shelbyville this year after being held at Carlyle Lake since the tournament’s inception in 2009.
