The Mercer County Treasurer’s office has collected upwards of $130,000 with people wanting to pay their property taxes early. Treasurer Bev Lower says the option was made available as a result of the new tax reform package signed into law prior to Christmas and taking effect in 2018.
The new reforms cap the deduction for local and state taxes at $10,000. Normal installment dates are in June and September for Mercer County property tax payments.
