Rockridge High School graduate and University of Wisconsin softball standout Kendra Lewis was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week by the conference Monday.
Lewis helped the Badgers to an undefeated week with a doubleheader sweep over North Dakota State and two conference wins over Minnesota last week. In those four games, Lewis batted .455 with a home run and seven RBI. Lewis is currently on a 10-game hitting streak.
On the season, Lewis is hitting .411 with five home runs and 31 RBI for the Badgers.
This is Lewis’ second time being named Big Ten Freshman of the Week.
